You might have noticed Liana Wheeldon's paintings around the studio, enchanting our hallway with mystery and intrigue.
On Saturday, October 18th, Liana will be opening her first solo show at Newport Yoga! You can join us from 6:00pm - 8:00pm for art, tea, chocolate, and of course for a chance to meet the other yogis that you've been practicing with.
This will be a collection of prints, drawings and oil paintings from Liana's 2008 collection.
Liana graduated from Emily Carr College of Art & Design in 1990, majoring in Fine Art Printmaking. She has always been strongly influenced by Pop Culture in general, and Film Noir and styles of the 1940’s/1950’s in particular.
Since graduating, she has mostly focused on lino block printing, mixed media pieces and drawings. While she did study painting at Emily Carr, she did not develop a passion for this medium until last year.
She has shown her work previously in group exhibits and has done commission pieces and private shows. Liana also has several pieces on display at Creative Home Furnishings in Coquitlam which she created for their youth furniture area.
